MAY 14, 2009: The divisional and regional breakdowns for the 2009 and 2010 seasons have been released. Not suprisingly, Mogadore will remain in DVI, region 21. Changes of note include:
- East Canton will move up to DV from DVI.
- Waterloo will move up to DIV from DV.
A change has been made to the schedule for this season as well. The week 3 home game against Northwestern will be televised, and has been moved to Thursday September 10 at 7pm to accomodate Fox Sports Ohio.
APRIL 6, 2009: The OHSAA has released the enrollment figures for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. These numbers will be broken down into the 24 regions in late spring / early summer.
MARCH 27, 2009: Mogadorefootball.com has made the transition to the 09 season! Some goings on of note:
- Mogadore will open at home with Mineral Ridge. Last season the Wildcats defeated the Rams 27-7 to open the year. Mogadore went on to a 9-1 record, while MR finished the season at 3-7.
- For the first time since the state championship year of 1996, The Smithville Smithies are on the slate for week two. Smithville finished with a 6-4 record in 2008, with a 4-3 record in the Wayne County League. The Smithies last made the playoffs in 2006, when they went 9-1.
- Also representing the WCL on this year's schedule are the Northwestern Huskies. The Huskies, Like Smithville and Mineral Ridge, compete in Division 5, Region 17. Northwestern went 3-7 in 2008, coming down from a 9-1 finish in 2007.
- The History section on the site has been updated to reflect the 2008 season, as well as a few additions from other seasons.
- The Cats competed this month at Columbiana High School in a power lifting meet. Pictures from the meet can be found by clicking the strength and conditioning banner to the right.
